Austin, TX– J&J Worldwide Services, a leader in providing solutions to critical missions worldwide, announced the successful transition of Operations and Maintenance (O&M) Services Supporting the Defense Health Agency (DHA) Program for Alexander T. Augusta Military Medical Center (ATAMMC), Fort Belvoir Community Hospital in Fort Belvoir, VA. J&J was awarded the four (4) year contract through the United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Mobile District on 26 December 2023. The base period of performance started 15 January 2024 and supports the hospital and all associated outlying areas, additional facilities, and incidental ancillary support services.
In conjunction with Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, the hospital provides the Military Health System medical capabilities of the National Capital Region Medical Directorate (NCR MD), a joint unit providing comprehensive care to members of the United States Armed Forces located in the capital area, and their families. J&J has been providing O&M services at Walter Reed (The President’s Hospital) since 2017. With the award of ATAMMC, J&J will expand its Healthcare Medical Solutions in the region to support the newly renamed hospital in honor Lt. Col. (Dr.) Alexander Thomas Augusta, the highest-ranking black officer in the Union Army, the first black professor of medicine at Howard University in Washington D.C. and the first black officer to be buried at Arlington National Cemetery.
