Doctors of sports medicine, athletes, and others have adopted the wearable sustained acoustic medicine treatment to heal tendons, ligaments, and other soft-tissue injuries effectively.
FREMONT, CA: "Our sam® technology is touching thousands of lives daily, and we want to continue providing education to more healthcare providers as a way to bring this innovative intervention forward to Americans who can benefit from this treatment," says Dr. George Lewis, founder, and CEO of ZetrOZ Systems. "This technology offers results without the need for opioids or other drugs while treating and healing patients up to 40 percent faster than standard methodologies." ZetrOZ Systems, the developer and manufacturer of the sam® wearable ultrasound device product line, is expanding its clinical education program on the benefits of sustained acoustic medicine for soft tissue healing, the application of pain relief treatment, and obtaining health insurance coverage for pain relief devices.
Sustained Acoustic Medicine (sam) is the first FDA-approved home-use bioregenerative medical device to treat specified medical conditions, most often persistent joint pain of the shoulder, knee, and elbow as overuse injuries. More than fifty clinical and scientific investigations have demonstrated its efficacy in mending injuries, restoring function, and returning patients to work and daily activities.
Dr. Rod Walters and Dr. Rajiv Mallipudi oversee the sam clinical education program. Walters is a globally recognized leader in athletic training, having decades of experience as a consultant for clients such as the National Football League, the Big 12 Athletic Conference, and Cirque du Soleil. In 2005, he was inducted into the Hall of Fame of the National Athletic Trainers Association.
Dr. Mallipudi, MD, MHS, is a board-certified hospitalist physician specializing in internal medicine and an assistant clinical professor at the Yale School of Medicine in New Haven, Connecticut. He is an active clinical researcher on healthcare quality improvement, with studies researching ways to minimize hospital patients' length of stay and enhance patient outcomes.
Walters and Mallipudi aim to educate physicians, physical therapists, and athletic trainers about the benefits and use of the sam device, with the hopes of reducing the need for surgeries and pain medication and increasing the likelihood of patients returning to work, sports, and normal activities.
