Hinson’s journey as a single parent, after her fertility challenges, inspired her to found CFC. She broke all conventions and adopted her daughter from Russia at a time when adoption by a single parent was unheard of. Hinson founded CFC to help prospective parents overcome the complexities and fears surrounding gestational surrogacy, which was a relatively new and unknown means of achieving parenthood. Hinson recognized gestational surrogacy was a groundbreaking technology for prospective parents who dreamed of building a family with a genetic tie to their child but could not carry a pregnancy. About 2/3 of CFC’s clients are LGBTQ+ and the other 1/3 are straight couples and single women who cannot sustain a pregnancy.
Hinson’s mission is to provide gestational surrogacy services in a professional, ethical, and legal manner to all those who need it to build or expand their family. CFC finds qualified gestational surrogates, matches them to intended parents, and provides concierge-level support. CFC also offers legal services to its intended parents as one integrated entity.
Those who have worked with CFC give it high marks for being professional, thorough, knowledgeable, and ethical. Indeed, when SEEDS, a nonprofit group created for US surrogacy and donor agencies, began work to self-regulate and adopt best practices and ethical standards, it asked Hinson to chair its Standards Committee.
CFC uses its legal expertise to navigate the complex web of state-by-state surrogacy laws, ensuring from the start that parentage rights can be secured. CFC decided to share its knowledge and created The US Surrogacy Law Map™, a valued resource that outlines the legal processes required in each state, and how that varies for different types of intended parents.
Hinson’s passion and advocacy for assisted reproduction and reproductive rights lies at the core of CFC and has enabled CFC to achieve landmark court rulings and much-needed legislative victories.
The CFC team’s competence and attention to detail are evident from its rigorous screening of surrogate candidates, its comprehensive matching process, and its high-touch support of both parents and surrogates, all of which result in successful, happy journeys. CFC caps the case load of its journey coordinators, enabling them to achieve high-touch support of both surrogates and intended parents. CFC also includes all its intended parents in its Gestational Carrier Guarantee Program, providing unlimited surrogate rematches after a surrogate is disqualified, with no rematch fee.

Additionally, CFC initiated the industry standard of offering a complete surrogacy journey pro bono for intended parents who qualify through the Men Having Babies’ GPAP program. Hinson says she has always believed in giving back and “making dreams come true.” CFC also offers generous discounts to military personnel and veterans, teachers, Men Having Babies members, and returning clients.
