Madan Kandula, Founder and CEOBreathing is a fundamental aspect of human life, and there are three essential airways in the human body: two nasal passages and one at the back of the throat.
Together, they form “The Breathing Triangle®.” When even one of these passages is obstructed, it can cause chronic issues like sinus headaches, congestion, snoring, and sleep apnea. These often-ovrlooked problems can set off a chain reaction of health complications, ultimately diminishing quality of life.
ADVENT, a nationally recognized pioneer in ENT medicine, exclusively focuses on solving issues related to The Breathing Triangle®, helping patients breathe freely and effortlessly through their nose, day and night. Currently celebrating its 20th anniversary, the company has built a reputation for its office-based treatments for nasal blockage, sinus, snoring, and sleep apnea concerns.
“Our treatments are minimally invasive and simple procedures, designed to open nasal and sinus passages, reduce inflammation in those areas, and address issues like small throats. For example, we offer an oral appliance therapy-a retainer-like device that can be used as an alternative to CPAP machines for those with sleep apnea. This technique keeps the airflow clear, so the patient can breathe easily, get sound sleep, and ultimately live a comfortable life,” says Madan Kandula, founder and CEO of ADVENT.
A Move to Fix What’s Missing in Breathing Care
Blockages in the nasal passages, sinuses, or throat can compromise not only breathing but also overall health. Conventional treatments for chronic breathing issues often miss the mark by overlooking these key areas. ADVENT recognizes the importance of raising awareness about the role of clear, functional airways in maintaining good health. By first educating patients about the underlying issues, ADVENT connects them to effective, office-based treatments. A prime example is obstructive sleep apnea, which is frequently mismanaged due to a lack of specialized airway care.
Many people with this condition are undiagnosed or directed to unnecessary treatments, leading to low success rates in conventional care. ADVENT provides an alternative path, focusing on core issues to achieve better outcomes. When care is based on a proper understanding of airway health, the process becomes straightforward and effective.
Studies consistently show that traditional treatments, particularly CPAP machines, have a low success rate-around 30 to 40 percent. One major reason for this is that many providers fail to address nasal obstructions, which are present in nearly 80 percent of sleep apnea cases. Without addressing these issues, the chances of treatment success are drastically reduced. ADVENT provides an alternative by beginning with nasal and sinus issues, ensuring that the entire breathing system, including the nose and throat, works properly. This foundational step helps its treatments succeed, whether using an oral appliance-the preferred method-or a CPAP machine.
“Our oral appliance therapy, which uses retainers to open the airway, achieves an 80 to 90 percent success rate. Even when we use a CPAP machine, our success rate is consistently around 85 percent, far surpassing the industry average,” says Kandula.

Real Stories, Real Change
A patient recently visited ADVENT’s clinic with a condition that was difficult to explain. He was experiencing throat issues and had been using a CPAP machine, but with limited success. During his visit, the ADVENT team provided a thorough evaluation and explained his condition in detail. They discovered that his nasal passages were blocked, his sinuses were congested, and his throat was too small for his body, which were all contributing to his symptoms.
ADVENT conducted a home sleep study, confirming severe sleep apnea. A CT scan also revealed significant blockages in his nose and sinuses. To address these issues, the clinic performed minimally invasive office procedures under local anesthesia, opening both his nose and sinuses. As a result, he immediately noticed improved breathing during the day and more comfortable sleep at night.
However, since he still had sleep apnea, the ADVENT team knew that clearing his airways alone wasn’t enough. They reintroduced the CPAP machine, which he had previously struggled with, and with his newly cleared nose, it worked perfectly. He could finally use the machine successfully. Since he frequently traveled for work, he sought a more convenient option. ADVENT then fitted him with an oral appliance, which worked just as well as the CPAP. He could easily carry it with him while traveling, effectively managing his sleep apnea.
This patient’s life transformed. He no longer snores or experiences sleep interruptions, and his daytime energy is restored. Before treatment, he had high blood pressure and was on heart medications for arrhythmias. Now, after better breathing and restful sleep, he has lost weight, become more active, and reduced his reliance on medication.
Most people, like this patient, don’t realize how airway and breathing conditions, particularly issues within The Breathing Triangle®, can impact the rest of their life. In his case, he addressed a ticking time bomb-untreated sleep apnea that had fueled dangerously high blood pressure and significantly increased his risk of heart attacks, strokes, and other serious health issues. Thanks to ADVENT’s solutions, he reclaimed the life he was meant to live.
Having witnessed the transformative power of treatments firsthand, ADVENT is passionate about expanding access to its services across the nation. Currently established in the upper Midwest, it plans to increase its footprint to all 50 states within the next two decades. Imagine the impact ADVENT can have as it broadens its reach and brings relief to countless individuals across the country.
